I spent the morning crawling around the car looking for some kind of documentation. Found nothing. I pulled the t top headliners out and noticed that GM was written on both t tops in white crayon. The car is a 68 with original paint and interior and probably the first time the headliners have been off. Anyone else have it on theirs?
You'll may notice the GM employees wrote stuff all over the underside of the body with crayon/chalk as it went down the assembly line. I had scribble on every body peice. Probably helped them track what was completed. Pretty neat. I had a hard time painting over it when I detailed my underbody with lizardskin.
The Job number is written on the car in several places. Usually on the firewall, luggage area and forward of the gas tank. This corresponds with the number written somewhere on the build sheet. I was wondering if anyone has seen specifically "GM" written anywhere on the car. I ask this because the brother of the deceased previous owner said that GM used the car as a promotions vehicle for a couple years and then auctioned off in 70. Unfortunately I have no documentation and just wondering if this may be some kind of indication of what he is saying may be true. Thanks, Mike
