problem solved: 82 wont start
its been a while since ive posted but heres an update:
recap: my 82 would crank and start for a second and then die.
i checked fuses, gas, ignition module, coil, checked for spark, oil, and every other simple fix i could think of. the only thing i noticed was that after trying a while to start i noticed no fuel would come out of the throttle bodies. so i figured my fuel pump needed attention.today i took out the fuel pump by simply taking out the bolts holding it in at the filler neck and after a while of twisting and turning it finally came out. when i took it out i noticed that between the fuel pump outlet and fuel line there was about 3" rubber hose that had just about dissolved and resembled chewing gum. I simply changed that out and presto! problem solved!. overall it was a simple proceedure to do and i am no master mechanic!
