All parts catalogs list one brake booster for 68 thru 76 and another for 77 thru 82. I think the newer one has a filter for the vacuum line and the older one does not. There must be something else that makes them different. Maybe someone else can post more information to help you. The booster is such a PITA to get off and replace you don't want to go through all the trouble of taking the old one off, installing the "new" one and then find out it won't couple up to the brake pedal or the master cylinder properly.
As Stock76 said it is a PITA to do. If you were to go to all that trouble you might like to look into a Hydroboost system for the car. That way you can even modify the bolts so that in the future you can remove them from the engine bay instead of going under the dash. Just a thought .

, but lets look into why you think it needs to be changed in the first place. what's the reason for asking?
If you do end up taking out your old one or needing to replace one that just isn't there...then Hydroboost is the easiest and best way to go.
PM me your email address and I can send you a ZIP folder with some good Hydroboost information.
I found a used one from a '72. Mine is leaking vacuum. Hydroboost is a dream right now. I'm on a tight budget so used is prbably what I'll do for now. Pm sent to Durango_boy.
