Engine Smokes
I have a 72 Stingray base engine. When I bought the car in 2001 it had 26,000 original miles. I have 39,000 miles now and when I let up off the accelerator there is smoke coming out the exhaust. Really annoying on the trip to Carlisle. I have already changed the valve seals to no avail. Prior to my purchase the car was stored for 11 years. My mechanic thinks it may be rings. He said since it sat for so long, could have rusted in the cylinders. May need a lot of work to stop the smoke. Car runs strong. What to do???
