Default Shipping a bumper

Hey all I am hoping you can help me out. I sold a bumper on ebay and I am having some trouble getting it shipped for a reasonable amount of money. I have been told it will cost over 200.00 to pack and ship it. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get this thing shipped without spending a fortune?

That looks like it would fit in the same size box as a 73/74 front bumper cover. May weight a bit more. The shipping on my 73 bumber cover was about $65.

It came UPS, not sure the exact amount, but I was quoted $40 for shipping. I'm sure it could get bent a lot easier than a box.

However, back when I worked at UPS, we would put things like this into a spot all buy itself with other odd shaped boxes and bags of small items and such. Its not packed as tight. but it's not normally packed with normal boxes. So I'm torn on if it would be better in this packaging vs a bigger oversize box.

Bought a '99 front bumper cover once. It came via bus wrapped in shrinkwrap in good shape. Cheap shipping and it was far far larger in size than a little chrome vette bumper.

When my neighbor sold their front and rear C4 plastic bumpers, they just wrapped them in shrink wrap and handed them to the UPS guy. I think it was pretty cheap to ship them that way. I guess it just depends on their current condition.

Dunno bout that.

2 years ago I had to ship an exhaust back..exhaust pipe was only wrapped in plastic. Went to UPS, they wanted $60 or so. Went to FedEx and they only charged $16 !!!

Ju st wrap it very well in large size bubble wrap. Then, stick your shipping label right onto the bubble wrapped bumper. You can then ship it via US Postal Service,

They will base your rate on delivery location, weight, and overall deminsions. You can go to their website and get the exact price.

I've shipped greyhound, you just need to find local station that does it and station to deliver it to.

If you can ship business to business the rates are MUCH cheaper.

Budman78 shipped me a rear off his 80 biz to biz, for <$20.
