side grill question

Default side grill question

noticed 3 of the 4 screws that hold the grill on side of fender are missing. what else holds it in? are there clips on bottom? there are supposed to be 2 screws on each side as far as i can see. ill have to use locktite but can an yone tell me where to get these. i saw them in catalog for 2 bucs but shipping was 7 bucs.

Go to Doctor Rebuild, he has the right stuff. Here is a link, you need J&K to hold the louvers in place.

Yeah...U-Right! I just guessed he was looking for the 68-69 louver fasteners. Now it appears I assumed wrong. The doctor has good stuff though.

You could always take a ride over to Carlisle this weekend. Should be vendors at the show that would have these.

One screw stud (welded to center bottom of grill) goes into a metal bracket (that's rivited to inner fiberglass flange on fender) and fastened with a nut. The rest of the mount screws go through the grill into U-nuts. Check the DocRebuild catalog for mount pics & parts.

Get the AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual) for your year from one of the vendors. These were used on the assembly line when our vettes were being built. Also get the Chassis repaie manual as well. Both are invaluable.
