Anything is possible with the right person.

It might be easier to list the hood for sale and use the money to buy an L88 hood.

Do you want an original L88 hood or are you okay with an after market L88 hood?

I would love an original, but I recently saw one for 2g's. I really love the look and I have a Torker II. I know I can get a base that drops low enough to clear my stock hood, but I havent found one and I didnt get any replys on a post I did, as to where I could get one..

Do you know if I can get an aftermarket that's functional and how much they might be..

Yeah man, I got my after market hand laid L88 hood from Vanacor's for $425, plus $80 for freight.

They come with and without the functional air box though I believe the air box is purchased separately and must be bonded to the underside of the hood once the hood is cut and trimmed to accept the air box.

Just call and ask them about the air box, they may be able to lay it with provisions for the air box.

On the question of hood clearance,i have a Torker 2.0 single plane intake/Holley 750 on my 69 502 and a L88 ( Ecklers) aftermarket hood. I have a drop base 14" air cleaner which just clears hood by 3/4" over the nut...
I believe Ecklers now gets about $600 for their L88 hood....so the Vanacor hood sounds like a good deal at $425 that DB mentioned...

I would be interested in your stock 427 hood.
Does any one know what is different between 68 and 69 hoods?

I heard that Ecklers had the original molds from GM and recently sold them to Vanacor.

Why might I not want to used the air box? Looks like its just the base with a small air cleaner. Seems like it must increase air flow like crazy. Induction?.

Thats cool. Tri power. I have a single. Ive seen pics of a single with what looks like a regular drop base and the small air cleaner. I never noticed the cleaner in the hood. Thanks for that pic..
