I've never once had PB blaster do anything for me, other then help take some of the work out of removing an already loosened nut, by lubricating the rusty end..

I've gone through cans of the stuff, waiting weeks in between, just hoping 1 of these people out there who advocate its use is not pulling my chain.. but no.. if its stuck, its stuck and PB has never helped :P
safe to say yours would have come out without PB
thats been my experience

This is where I am happy to be in the minority. I was able to tap out with relative ease. I just wish my lower shock mounts/struts were so easy.

Cutting torch.

My dad has a skilled torch hand and cut through all the shims and everything in about 2 minutes flat.

I guess the St. Louis area uses a ton of road salt. I bought mine from there, drove it home to VA.

Mine were a BIG p.i.t.a. to cut out. Soaking the whole thing for weeks did nothing. Sawz-all and quite a few blades later, they were out.

You forgot to mention removing the shock mount stud from the trailing arm. They sell a tool to screw onto the threads, so you can beat it out. It didn't work at all. I beat the crap out of it and it wouldn't come out. I had to cut the thing off and pound out the remaining piece.

3/8 NPT pipe cap works just fine for that.

I had the same problem on one of my shock mounts. All I had to do was burn out the scraps of rubber with an oxy/acetelyne torch, then get the inner bushing sleeve cherry red-hot. At that point, everthing tapped apart just fine.
