Well, I now have that same hole and this is what I was planning. Keep in mind I will be rapainting my car as soon as I can afford it. With a wedding to pay for I don't think it'll be for a few years though.

I was going to sand and trim the area to accept a fiberglass patch of the hole. Then, sand it all down concave, fill, and sand flat.

Then, rough sand the paint around it, spray ion a single stage paint color matched to my existing paint, and let it dry. Maybe two thin coats.

Once cured, I will clay bar the whole car, wet sand, and buff. I'll be patching a few other areas so I will do the whole car and it'll match enough for me to be happy with it for a few years.

If your car has a good shine, wet sanding and buffing only the patched area will not look too bad, and most colors will blend a lot better than my black will.
