stupid errant wire question
Hey all. I've got this wire from under the dash hanging over the clutch pedal on this '75; black with a female spade connector. Getting home from work the other morning I apparently grounded it to the clutch pedal with my foot (seems there's more length to it than I thought) and I got a buzzing. Freaked me out! So, got into the garage, clutched again and buzzed again. Also did it after I shut off the engine.
We've all got a list of what's gotta be done NOW! and what'll wait. They're usually several pages long. I know mine is.
So.... I'll have to pull the dash over the column sometime soon for work on the headlight switch. It'll be a good time to track this wire. But, it would be nice to know just what is buzzing, why is it buzzing, where is it buzzing from?
Does it look like a GM spade connector or a hardware store crimp on? If it's crimp on, then it didn't come with the car and is probably from a PO install of something. Usually any GM connector that could short something out if it touched ground has a hard shell case around it.
