I have a 79 Corvette that is leaking gas from behind the driverside front tire. I hadn't driven it for a while because of kids, work, etc..so when I went to try and move it to a different spot in my garage it wouldn't start and then I noticed a small drip of gas coming from behind the tire. How difficult will this be to fix and what are my options? Thanks.
This is an extremely dangerous situation if the car is inside a garage. The fumes can build and a spark from a water heater or like can ignite and you will have other problems. If the car is outside and you run it, the gas can easily start a car fire and the leak will be the least of your problem. The fuel pump is located in the area of your front passengers side tire and a charcoal emissions cannister is located behind the drivers side front tire. I can only speculate on the cause of the leaking, but regardless; the leak needs to be fixed asap or sooner to neutralize the potential hazard. Identify the specific source of the leak and someone can assist you. In the mean time, prevent a fire or explosion.
