As mentioned the frame and birdcage must be checked for rust. Also look at the overall quality of the fiberglass.
If the car hasn't been restored, chances are that anything made of rubber will be deteriorated. Look at the suspension bushings, brake hoses, fuel hoses, etc. to get an idea of what you are going to need to do. If the engine is original and high milage, expect a worn out cam and plan on a valve job.
