hello, does anybody know anything about 13, 1972 corvettes that where made strictly for trams am racing, not legal for street use, available only at a dealer, i heard from a friend about them, and may have stumbled upon one, thanks for any help!
I have never heard of this group of cars. In 1972 GM only offered 3 engine options- base 200 HP, LT1 255HP and LS5 270HP. GM was still under the official ban on racing in 1972 so I don't believe that there were any cars that where released for Trans AM racing
A Corvette rumor. If memory serves, there were no Corvette trans-am cars in the 70s due to the displacement limit (5L). By that time, Corvettes were 5.7L or larger.
Sorry for your buddy, but he has not stumbled across a 5L Corvette. The only factory 5L Corvettes were the 1980 California cars. If he's looking at a 70s Corvette with a 305 in it, the engine is not original.
