Default Custom Side View Mirrors

Has anyone here changed from the original chrome side mirrors on the early C3's to something a little different from the stock pieces? I'm thinking of something billet or a mirror shaped out of the ordinary.

If you have, I'd appreciate seeing a photo or a link to the vendors site.

Thanks

I have seen a few guys swap over to sport bike mirrors for an interesting look. I'm not a fan, but it's unique to say the least.

yup I'd like to see something different for a 77. The mirrors now just let me know the door is closed and alined, never see if there is anyone to my left. But I drive in the left on the interstate.

I have a set of "bullet" mirrors from an eighties vette still in the box but I'm waiting until I paint before I put them on.

Yea, some have switched to the later, bullit style sport mirrors. It's a good look. i got some thqt need to be installed. Installation is time consuming, the side glass needs to come out.

If I were you, I would pull the glass and drill the holes before paint, might save you some nicks.

Thanks for the leads guys. I have the body in primer now with the hopes of getting it back on the frame over the winter. All the glass is out so, I thought this would be a good time to drill out the holes and get ready. All I need to do now is figure out what mirrors to use.

There is a nice looking red 73 vette on the forum here (I think it's Red73). From the pics I've seen it looks like he has changed from the stock mirrors but it's hard to tell without a close up.

He either makes those or baught them from a forum member that makes them. I remember a big discussion on them. Definitely different looking. I've also seen a C5 mirror conversion on the forum. You might want to do a search.

I'm using later model sprot mirrors on my '72. I think they're the best looking on the car IMO.
