Help!!! Major dash panel fitment issue. What am I missing????
The shifter console is new and I have the metal brace installed and it is mounted to the tunnel where the old one was. The dash panels are origional and not modified. I didn't do anything to the bird cage so all of that is in the OEM position. I did remove all of the heating and ac stuff behind the dash but that should not affect this. What have I missed?
I agree...maybe the after market gauge bezel is the problem.
My new shifter console plate is new and doesn't match very will with either my stock gauge bezel or the new one I installed. New bezels and panels just don't seem to fit together very well. Heck, I can't even find a shifter boot that fits my shifter plate opening. I have to MAKE one.
Does the order i which the peices go in make a difference? I am going to pull the center console back out and mount the dash pads and guage cluster first and then see how the shifter console fits in sens it is the new peice of the puzzel.
Also the holes in my left hand lower dash pad are stripped. Is there a plastic filler I can put in the holes and then re thread them? JB weld is only for metal correct? Anything for plastic?
for filling in holes (or rebuilding broken parts) in plastic, I've used "plastic welder"(its a two part epoxy like product) with some good results. I used it on my center console as all the tabs that hold the shifter plate/bezel were gone, along with several other pieces of plastic. Bought it at Walmart...
