I'l throw my .02 in but you are going to get lots of different opinions on this one I would imagine.
If you want a Vette to drive and enjoy, then this ain't it. If you want a classic for a collection and like Pace Cars as much as I do, it's still a little high especially if it's an automatic. 4 Speeds bring more.
If you were to spend 30k and planned to drive it, you will probably need to put another few thou into it to make it roadworthy after sitting for almost 30 years.
But if your pockets are deep enough and you want a 30 year old new car to thrash about, I'd congratulate you on a great ride.

Being the owner of one of these low milage L82/4 speed Pace Cars I would say that assessment is right on.

I would agree 100% This car needs to be in a dealer showroom. Or a collectors museum. If it had 10k miles it would be a different story. But with 680 miles.

The Pacers are indeed nice, but you can enjoy driving an early C3 without worrying nearly as much about destroying its appreciation, so if I could only have one, it certainly wouldn't be a PC. Speculator types have been trying to get rich on these since the first one hit the showroom floor, and neither I nor the market will show any mercy on someone who ends up loosing their shirt on one. Proceed with caution as a minor market correction will put its value on how much you like it rather than what it cost you.

I've noticed that too, lots of pace cars were bought and locked away by owners who thought they would be worth a lot of money one day. Unfortunately, their error was in the fact that everyone who wanted a pace car bought one in 1978 ... they didn't even keep up with inflation.
The price was about $14,000 back then. If you had put that money into the stocks that make up the DOW, it would be worth $224,980 based on today's close. And that's not even counting dividends.
