Is there a way to find out what dealer our C3's were deliverd to new?
Yes... It's called the NICB database, but good luck trying to get the information from them. If I recall correctly, it is available only to law enforcement and a case number must be assigned in order to access the information.
Does Chevrolet keep a record of this?
There are currently no known records of Chevrolet vehicles in GM's hands. There was some activity a few yeas ago, but I haven't heard anything recently.
You can get a copy of the dealer invoice for later year C3's (I don't remember the cut-off year) but they aren't available for your 69. I obtained the invoice for my 79 while they were still free from GM but GM has subcontracted the service out and it now costs something like $50 to get a copy. Search the archives for Peggy Venezia and you will find the whole story and contact info for the company.

The plant was torn down in the early 90's I believe and most or all of the property where it was located on was sold and became a Smurfit? recycling or container plant (can't remember so don't quote me on that). The corvette plant was just part of the huge GM complex there and think they also built trucks and/or chassis cabs for school buses? Also had some kind of office building at the corner of Natural Bridge and with big windows, and they would display the new Corvette models there. That building and window was still there but it had been remodeled and the windows were not as big as they used to be. I went to the location in the late 90's and you could still recognize some of the buildings from old photos but there was nothing left from the actual Corvette plant.
