Choke Thermostat

Is the choke thermostat on a '71 LT-1 different than the one on a base 350 engine?

I'm confused because i looked on Ecklers and CC and both show different parts for base 350 vs LT-1. The one on Ecklers site shows the coil lip on the left and on CC it's the opposite. The place I ordered from (Willcox) only shows one on their site for 350...not a different part for LT-1. It arrived today and it looks like the one on the CC site (coil lip on the right). I'm afraid i have the wrong part...

Please help.

Looks like the same part, might have been shot at different temps

anyone? it took 2 weeks for this part to come and i'm not happy that it might be the wrong one. if i have to put in another order somewhere else i want to do it asap and send this one back. might have to just call Paragon...their site shows 2 different parts too. zip shows 2 different parts but the picture of them looks the same

I don't mean to sound lame...but did you call Ecklers and ask them. I have also called ZIP Products if I had a question about a part. or maybe go to your local Chevy dealer's Parts Dept and ask them....I have also found them to be somewhat helpful.

Looking at the pics it may not matter. With the engine cold the choke blade should be closed and warm it should open. Stick it on there and see what it does. Besides being backwards the springs might operate oposite of each other.
