The analog clock in the instrument console on my Vette is not working. Is this a common problem? I cannot even adjust the time? Is there something I am missing, or could it be broke? Is there a way to fix it, or should I just look for a new one?

Not working - very common.
Time adjust by pulling the shaft towards you and rotating.
What year are we talking about? Could be a power problem, but the year is important to know how that power is supplied.
They can be restored, but new mechanical and upgraded quartz movements are available for somewhat reasonable prices.

Tried that.. It does not work.

1979. Hmm, kinda wonder on the power thing.. Are those center gauges supposed to light up? They are all dark.. The interior light does not work either, nor does the one under the hood.. Everything else does, including the tach/speedo.

It's a clever, if badly flawed, design. Even when I had mine running it kept horrible time. I think the best thing to do is either get rid of it and run an oil temp gauge like some 81s and 82s, or install the quartz internals and forget about it.

Sounds like you have a power problem. Does the cigar lighter work? If your speedo and tach lights are working, but the center cluster is out, I'd either guess that every bulb is burned out or the grey wire feeding the cluster is broken.

Yeah, I saw some quartz kits.. wondering if it is best to just get the replacement vs. the kit..

Hmm, I have not tried that yet.. Could there be a single fuse feeding that cluster and the dome, etc.?
