Default Part order from Corvette Central

Hello,

I just wanted to share a story regarding a parts order from Corvette Central. You may want to keep this in mind prior to placing your next Corvette Central parts order.

I blew a power steering pressure hose on my Corvette. So I went to Corvette Central to order a new hose. Over a week later and still waiting for my new hose, I decided to contact them to see when I should be expecting my order. They informed me that they would not have my part in stock to ship for over two weeks and that if I can’t wait then I could cancel my order. Since this is a common part that I could get anywhere and I can’t drive my car in the mean time I figured I would seek an alternate source. I located the part at one of their competitors and ordered it. Not only did their competitor have the part in stock and could ship it immediately, it was 20% cheaper. I emailed Corvette Central 1 hour after receiving their email (asking me if I would prefer to cancel this order) and instructed them to cancel my order as they suggested. I then received a reply from them that they can’t cancel my order because it was in the process of being shipped. I responded with the question, why did you tell me you would not be able to ship my part for over 2 weeks. I never received a reply to my question. Now I have 2 of the same part and only need one. It is now my burden to return the part to Corvette Central because of their inept way of conducting business. This is not the first time that I have experienced their incompetence, however it will be the last.

Thanks for listening

Tom

Tom Sorry about what is happening. My expirence with Corvette central was about the same. If they already have sent the hose when you receive it I believe their return policy will allow you to return the hose. The bad thing is your money wont be returned to you until they receive the part back. I went thru this with them over a substandard bumper cover. I have learned whenever I order A part from any vender I ask them if it is in stock and when will it be shipped to me. I don't know where you live but I also had a power steering hose problem and I carried to a place that fabricates hoses and they put new rubber on my original ends for much less than the Corvette venders charged for a new hose and they did it while I waited.

Tom, Sorry this situation didn't work out for you. I think your post is a little harse! Lets look at the facts. You ordered a part from us that we didn't have in stock. We worked dilligently to get it in as fast as possible and ship it out to you. Must faster than we quoted you. I'm not sure how you find any incompence in that what so ever. Most would complement us on that service.

We also have one of the best return policies in the field. Return your item and we'll give you a full refund.

We also have a price match policy. IF you find one of our competitors has it cheaper we'll match the price.

If you are still unsatisfied please PM me direct.

Dan

Boy. I can't say enough good stuff about Corvette Central. I don't know how many orders I've placed with them over the past few years but it's at least 10, probably more like 20.

Orders usually come in within a couple of days and I've only had to return one thing over the years, and that was my own fault. I ordered a 10.5" clutch pak based on misinformation I got at some water cooler.

Well, I let it set for 6 months before I actually started the clutch job and found I needed an 11".

Sent it back. No questions asked and they had the right one in my hands for the next weekend.

My wife on the other hand... not such a big fan...

My experiences with Corvette Central has been very good. Things do happen and no decent business wants unhappy customers, but occasionally it happens.

The first two years I had my Vette I think I single-handedly kept Corvette Central in business, or at the very least I was responsible for very generous Christmas bonuses to employees.

My experience with CC has been excellent!!! I had one problem with a part not shipped that was on the shipping order and it was taken care of without a hitch. I receive updates by email if parts are on back order or not being shipped as a complete order. Never a problem with this vendor.

I always look forward to receiving Corvette Centrals catalog. It doubles as an assembly manual.

I have lost count of the number of parts I have ordered from Corvette Central. I have never returned anything but if they give full refund for returns how can I go wrong? I like their website better than some.

Do I buy from other outfits? Sure I do. I shop around and go with the best value. But time after time I end up with Corvette Central.

............(now do I get a big gift certificate from Dan?)...........

So far i've only had good experiences with corvette central, I emailed them a question about a product they were selling, and one I thought they should add to their product line, and I received an answer from them the following day. I have ordered a couple parts from them, and everything went well.

I've only ordered from Corvette Central a few times, however it was always a very positive experience. I would definitely buy from them again, and they really do have a great catalog.

I stopped ordering from CC. Last order was a bait n switch deal on ebay for a NOS part. Currently it's easier to deal with Paragon and the customer service over there.

I've always had great luck with Corvette Central. Placed several orders with them, basically the entire interior and a few mechanical parts. Only issue I ever had was I got two LH windshield moldings instead of a LH and RH, a phone call took care of it quickly and I am very happy with their customer service. When I finally do get around to finishing my car, Corvette Central will definitely be my supplier of choice.

I just placed an order with Corvette Central day before yesterday for a complete exhaust system. I'm hoping all goes smoothly.

I've bought from DocRebuild, Zip, Volunteer Vettes & Paragon all orders were satisfactory.

It's great there's a public forum to read about good/bad issues, keeps vendors on their toe's. There's plenty of product on the market, there selling service and only service.....

Hopefully it is an isolated incident from them. I order from them regularly and have not had any problems in over 4 years.

I have nothing but good things to say about CC, I ordered a part and the parcel arrived in 3 days to Canada. When I open the package it was the wrong part, when I call CC they bent over backwards for me. Sent the correct part, and it arrived in 2 days. The wrong part they told me to keep it, No Charge. This part I hope I never need, but if I do I have one.
Tombags, I feel your pain, but I must agree they went all out for you, but nothing lost you can return it for a full refund.
