It's been raining like no other here in Northeast Ohio for the past couple days, and my white baby's been getting pretty dirty in it.
Driving to work yesturday I made a turn onto the main road in the city at a regular speed, maybe 15mph or so. It was really wet and I guess that BFG T/A's aren't the best rain tires. The combination of rain, lousy tires, rear wheel drive and the wacky angle the turn is on were just too much for the car and next thing I knew I was spinning around sideways. I ALMOST saved it and corrected it, but there was a little dip in the road that said "no way" and threw me all the way around. I've never stared at oncoming traffic before, and I don't really want to do it again. Thankfully I didn't actually hit anything, but I came pretty close to a white Explorer.
Made me kinda wish I had that C5 with traction control. Or a lighter right foot.
Sounds like your lucky day. Last week there was a thread about driving a Corvette every day during the winter. I hope he reads your thread. I don't think a Corvette is a very good foul weather car.

It's squirley as-is in the rain, and it spins the tires turning corners quite a bit, but this is the first time it's ever gotten away from me so bad I couldn't save it. I can't imagine driving it in the snow. That's suicide.
I went 90 degrees one day hitting second gear a bit too hard for damp roads. I was looking straight on to the writing on the side of a semi trailer and skidding in the same direction as I was originally headed. Kind of weird feeling at the time,so helpless. I ended up tapping the brake, cutting the wheel hard right, and swinging the frontend around. I felt the pucker for sure.
Now when it rains, you'll see me in the slow lane being passed by minivans.
I Have The B.F.G.'s And I have Found That Driving On Dry, Rain Washed ,And Snow. Everything Is Well And Good...However, Sandy,....Fresh Rain Wet,...Ice,...and Black Ice... Pavement. Well It Is Like Watching Your Car, On "Corvette's Gone Wild", .... Bustin' Bronc's,.... Or, Riding Bulls. It Kinda Hurts The Next Day.
I do not care to drive the vett in the rain at all. It just feels too out of control. I would almost prefer to ride my motorcycle. Glad it rains like twice a year here in San Diego. Only time I spun a car in the rain was my cutlass, I clipped a guard rail with the bumper. Funny thing was not more then a mile up the road I saw a suv do the same thing, so I did not feel too dumb.
