took the vette to work today, and this just started happening about a mile from work. pulled out of the gas station, gave it some gas, and off i went. stepped on it a bit, (did not floor it) and lost power, engine wise. car didn't stall, but nothing happened. took my foot off, gave it a little bit of gas, and i was able to get up to normal speed (40 or so).
got to a side road by work, were i played around a bit with it, and the same thing happened. not flooring it, just giving it some gas, and nothing.
i'll liken it to when you step on it hard, (with a carb) and it hesitates, but in this case, nothing obviously kicked in,
it is an 82 (fuel injection). nothing else happened, power wise. i gotta get home tonight, (some highway driving) and am hoping i'll be okay. any suggestions as to what it might be?
Check the fuel filter and look at the condition of fuel hoses. I had this experiance years back and afther changing a buch of parts I foud the rubber hose at the tank was weather cracked and sucking air. This only happened at times. Changed allof the old hoses and the problem never came back.

Where it happened immediately after gassing up I would suspect you picked up some crap with the fuel. I would change your fuel filter and see if that helps. If that doesn't help, I would be looking at the fuel pump as a suspect. Good luck.
And I would stop and pick up some fuel additive at the local parts store. There isn't enough room here to tell you all the thing it could be. The Cross Fire Vette are a breed all their own. I know! I have one...
It's either the fuel filter or the fuel pump.
I had the same situation on a couple of my vehicles.
Just enough fuel pressure to run at light throttle but not enough under heavy load.
Good luck.
