Same pictures, but at night. These were semi-tight in the hole, but I put some contact cement on the back to hold them in. They have been in about a year and a half. I know it sounds pretty redneck, but it worked...maybe someone else can think of a better way to mount them?
I like the value, and the functionality, but I am not a fan of the lenses.
I bet it would be easy to install stock lenses cut from the original housings or bubble lenses over the HF lights. I'd have to sit down with one to be sure, though.

with Durango_boy on this one. I would like to see the finished product if it is possible to put the stock lens covers over the LEDs. If any Forum members have done this please post a pic on the forum here, TIA houstonvett

The effect I wanted was a ?stock? looking bubble with a very bright and easy to see tail and brake light. I paid a lot more for the bulbs but I got the effect I wanted. Like I said, I really like the value and application...just not the lenses.
Here's what I did...yes, the cost was a lot higher per bulb so it's not as practical for just anyone who wants LED but it suited my needs perfectly.

does it have the same "instant on/off" effect that normal LED's have?
I bought one harbor freight light and I'm going to return. Theres a few reason why...
1. I dont want to cut my OEM harness
2. I dont want to cut the factory opening larger to fit the new light
3. No screw holes in the HF lights
It could be done by wiring a socket adapter to the HF lense but I'd still have to cut the hole bigger and find a way to secure them in place. HF by me didnt have then sale for $9 so...
4 lenses X $20
4 socket adapters X $5?
Thats $100 in parts with no reverse lights!! Looking at it from that perspective the $220 from CC sounds reasonable.
No, but I did learn a few interesting things. Batman has a GM troubleshooting manual, and it claims that the C3s signal flashers do not get resistance from the rear rights. They only use the front signals for determining resistance on the flasher.
This would explain why they were not working because all of the resistors I installed were at the back, and I hadn't finished wiring the front.

I was thinking you had a "resistance" issue which is why I suggested that in your thread awhile back...but I could not be sure at the time...
I keep seeing this "disclaimer" on various Led kit supplier web sites:
"These LED modules are intended and sold for "Off Highway Use" only, and are not D.O.T. approved or tested. By installing these LED replacement modules you assume all responsibilities or risks, and waive your rights to legal recourse."
Noticed that the kit from Corvette Central($195) does not make this disclaimer,however...

Yeah I was in agreement but had no idea the rears had nothing to do with it. Once I finish the grill inserts which both have foglights and signals, I will re-test everything and start by cutting the resistors off of the back harness.
I only changed the plugs on the ends of the wires to fit the new socket and every thing works great no problems and no changing the flasher.(It only makes and breaks the circuit.)My stock lites were brite at night and I ran all four on the brakes but in direct sun, they were hard to see.I did'nt want to take the chance of gettin hit from behind.
