Default Burnt71 Is Ok!!!!

Just talked to him on the phone. The layoff hit him pretty hard, but he'll pull through. He was using the computer at work he doen't have one of his own. He is heading down to the Orlando area of FL, where he has a niece.. gonna take a little time off, see if he can find some work and maybe stay. If she has a pc, he will be back online. I suggested he get a room in the Fredricksburg area of VA, I don't want to see him fall asleep at the wheel. Anyway, ithink he will be blown away when he sees the other threads...I will keep in contact with him, but his words to me was he was looking at this as 'an adventure'. Stay tuned....

Also, he is an electrician by trade, any CF'ers in the Orlando area have any leads on work...speak up...

I don't know where he's travelling, and I know I'm a newb here, but I can always share my little dorm on Charleston AFB with a person in need. If he hits this part of the country and needs food or a roof, let me know.

I went through 3 layoffs in a 4 year period. I know how he feels. SUX big time. He'll bounce back. Best of luck to him and hopefully he won't have to part with any of his vettes.

The 71 burnt to the ground in a garage fire..hence the name burnt71...he gave everything else to his son.. I'll get his boys number and see if he needs some help or what all he's gonna do with them...but hey, let's not act like vultures circling the not dead yet corpse..ok

Even though the residential construction has slowed in Orlando, there is still quite a bit of commercial construction going on. Also, the theme parks are always looking for good electricians. Not the greatest pay, but good steady work with pretty good benefits.

Default Construction jobs everywhere in Vanccouver B.C.

Send Burnt 71 to Vancouver B.C. Canada. Work here for 5 years and I'm sure he'll be happy. Contractors having signs on their trucks wanting workers and tradesman. This was never heard of seeing wanted signs on trucks. Construction jobs plentiful. 26.00 per hour just to hammer nails. If you have trades certificate you get more. Plumbers with ticket getting over 100.00 per hour and that goes for electricians at 125.00 per hour. Restaurants hiring spanish cooks from the states to fill in cooking positions. Made a deal with the US government to speed up the working visas. So if you want a job come to Vancouver B.C. Hope burnt 71 hears about Vancouver.....2010 Olympics!!!

I know a few electricians in Orlando. Have him hit me up via PM or email at SurfnSun1 @ aol.com.

Construction is VERY slow down there now but I can point him in the direction of a few that work with large builders..Pulte, KB, etc.
