Default Paint Repair

i've got two areas in which my paint has been "nicked". the pics aren't great but basically they are afew millimeters in diameter and scratches/nicks or whatever you want to call them are all the way through the paint. i am afraid of the paint peeling anymore... what can i put to prevent it. my touch up paint really sucks... it's not going to work. and additionally, in one of the areas the paint has begun to rise a bit from the fiberglass at the lip of the nick. i was thinking..... what if i just cover the small area with some crazy glue. whould that be... CRAZY ???? (no pun intended)

You can get touch-up clear coat as well as touch-up paint. Problem with most touch-up paint is the color match, or lack of it!

If paint is peeling around the chip; then you have a paint adhesion problem. If recently painted check your warranty, if any.

one thing you can do is go to a pro paint supplier, and ask them to mix you some paint. If you want to be close on the match, have them take a pic of your paint with their special cam which will in turn give them a paint code .they can mix you a couple of ounces and then you can touch up your car.

I have repaired chips with touch up paint by filling in the chip with the paint. Kind of scab it up. When the pain t is dry you can us 1200 grit wet to get it smooth. Once you done with the delicate sanding you can hand rub with polishing compound them wax. If you are very carful with the wet sending you will hardly notice the repair. I have done this many times with positive results. Just did this to a couple of stone chips on my 2003 BMW.

there, and the camera tip,but w/ a camera it WILL get you a code, but there may be 2..3...,or 10 variances of the color in that code, and of course, you don't want to buy a quart for a few spots, but the less paint mixed...usually...the harder it is to get it close w/all the aluminum, pearls, etc.,if your paint has that.
