Default What's a Valance?

I was looking through my AIM and noticed they show a valance on the front-end below the radiator. Mine is missing. Is that a body trim piece or does it serve a purpose? Anybody else missing theirs? Should I replace it?

I believe it is meant to force more air into radiator, Keeping the engine cooler

The panel . . . I have a pace car spoiler, so I think air flow is okay. I don't have overheating issues.

I guess it's for holding the front end FG tight.

I lost mine on the motorway when i crashed the car sometime ago so i've built an alu lighter and much nicer one.

Thanks for the replies; I guess I'll replace sometime before I do any serious engine upgrades.
