Default L88 Headlights

I have the aluminum L88 buckets but how are lights mounted to the bucket? What light assembly is used? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

You just use the stock black cups that the lamp sits in as part of the stock headlights...the cup is simply bolted to the aluminum housing.

The clear lenses can be had from F Gregg or from Guldstrand.

I have to make a correction here. While you can bolt your lights to the aluminum housing, you will have no headlight adjustment. There is an intermediate bracket that you need(bolts on to housing, and lights bolt on to it). It is a Gm part .Guldstrand sells them as part of the set.

Okay so I think lvrpool 32 is talking about these.

Road-Race Vette do you have a pic or part number for the part you are talking about?

The OEM bulb cup uses these to adjust.

Can I just drill the same 4 hole pattern in the L88 bucket and mount them the same way as the OEM? I haven't done this so please tell me if that sounds stupid.

Yes, that is what he is talking about. It isnt what I am talking about. Look at the pic below and you will see that the headlights are mounted slightly higher than the buckets. They are then attached to the piece i am talking about with the clips you have posted. That way they can be adjusted like from the factory, and they wont be sunk low into the L88 bucket. I dont know the part #. You can buy those from guldstrand. I got mine from my friend Frank, who makes the headlight assemblies. If you have a hard time locating them, then contact me and I will try to get a set for you.

I put a piece of threaded bar and two locking nuts on the bolts I used to mount the black cup and the aluminum bucket, so I can adjust my headlights if I need to.
