Started working on the car again...!!? I created some new wiring for the headlights and tail lights. I hope to get them installed this weekend and then get enough work done on the interior so I can get the car back on the road.
A guy showed up at our local cruise night last year with a full restomod 58 Vette. I have not seen it since. He had a full custom molded dash and console. He was an IT geek and had a LCD screen behind the wheel displaying speedo, tach, fuel, H2o and oil temp and oil pressure, turn indicators and other indicators. He used an IPad 3G in the center for his entertainment and could remove it when he left the car. There was a crowd when he was showing someone the dash and I never got to talk to him and have not seen the since. It was a black on black 58 with an LS3 auto and 20" wheels. Anyone in the Houston area ever seen this car? I have mentioned it to several Vette "nuts" in the area and they never saw it. The car looked like something Chip Foose would build. I wish I had taken a few pics.
Don't know about the 58... But wanted to chime in to encourage David to continue the incredible work he's doing. Unbelievable stuff, man. Keep up the great work.
Hows your dash comming along. I read your thread begining to end a couple times times and some other threads to motivate me and get ideas. Well I finished my dash about 2 weeks ago and wanted to post some pics to motivate you on yours!!
I get sucked into these Too Good to be true projects that are 5 years old all the time. Like a Steven Segal movie. Start reading the info and it sounds great only to find him starring in it, you know it will be bad! Two thoughts, I've had a lot of luck PMing the original poster for follow up info. And 2nd, there is a bit of a good idea here with changing the direction of the gauges. Maybe pick up an old bezel, glueing some PVC into it an have them face the driver. Nothing exotic, just enough to be different.
