The lights work but when I have the brake on, the right tail light goes out. Checked the bulb and wires to that light and couldn't find a problem. The left light works. Where to start looking?
I agree. I had a ground issue at the socket. I just relaced my socket. Problem was solved. Kragen auto carries the socket on the shelf for a couple bucks. If that doesnt work you'll have to dig deeper, but most likely as PB said ground issue

I have the same exact problem that I am now trying to fix, if I get it figured out I will let you know.,BTW it's the diver side on my 73.
I thought it might be a contact issue with the lamp. Used metal hook to pull the contact inside the socket out and blew the light fuse. The brake light worked with the fuse blown, replaced the fuse and still had the same problem.

well, I finally got mine fixed, after about 50 hours of fun.
and the problem was they had 2 grounds set up for the one tail lite. 1 at the lite and one at the frame. I took the one from the frame and attached it to the lite and VOILA it works like it's supposed to.
