Default cylinder head date code

This pic is not off the car I am looking at, in case you have been following my saga....

This is a pic of a cylinder head date code from a car I looked at a while ago. I see the casting number ends in 91492, which in my Chevy casting number guide book only matches up with 3991492, used only in 1973 Corvette and Camaro 350 HI PERF.

Then I look at the date code, which looks like E191, which means May 19, 1971, right?

Does this make sense? I'm trying to understand casting dates so using this as a lesson. Please comment.

Greg

From the above mentioned site.

3991492....70-up................over the counter,Camel hump,64cc, straight or angle plug

The 492 head was only an over the counter item.
