Speaking of clean... VERY nice Mike... Factory fresh. I got my cover from Ecklers. I also used Dupli-Color engine enamel in gloss black. I filled gaps in my firewall with bondo and did ALOT of sanding. I took out my washer bottle & lines. Layed down three coats of primer & three of the Dupli-color, sanding each coat but the last...

Also.......We're the same age man. Class of '75 too?...

AND. The P-51D is my favorite plane too. It's the ultimate aircraft of all-time in my book. I've loved them & Corvettes since I was a kid. We have one based here in Omaha & I live by a small airport. I've gone running from the dinner table to the backyard more than once at the sound of that wonderful Rolls Royce Merlin of Gunfighter II roaring over my house. One ride in the back of a Mustang and I could die tomorrow....

Are you sure we're not related . Glad to meet somebody from the Class of '75 , and the P51 was the greatest aircraft of WWII.

Thanks saudivette. Most of my chrome was done to the original parts, including the hood release. I think I paid $100 bucks to have both of them done.....

I was afraid you'd say that. I can't find a plater out here and I'm not going home to Oz until November next year so it looks like I'll have to send them to the UK with a work mate going on vacation and get him to send them to a plater
