Thank you for your many help.

All was able to understand it by your explanation. However, I do not understand what was the purpose of Diverter of the headlight washer with the solenoid is equipped.
If both washer systems are always jetted at the same time, it seems that Diverter (HLW solenoid)is not necessary.

I'm not home now so I can't pull 1969 CORVETTE GUIDE BOOK off the shelf and quote it directly. The way I understood the description of the system is you have to keep the WSW switch depressed for the headlight washers to work, whereas a quick press on the switch activates just the WS washers.

If you go to the web site version of this schematic you can enlarge it and view it in better detail. In the lower right hand corner when you open the picture should be a 100 percent, just click on the arrow next to it and enlarge it to 200 and you will be able to read it better.

The yellow wire is the power wire for the wiper motor (center terminal) as well as the power for the washer pump. When you press the wiper switch to the wash position, you are completing the ground on the blue wire which engages the washer function.

I hope this makes sense.
Thats what I thought, no connection to the lights at all, they squirt whether you want them to or not.....................B

corvetteload:

I understood that there was the red wire for the purpose of supplying a windshield wiper with power supply(hot at all times), and the movement of H/L/W had nothing to do with the opening and shutting of the retractable headlamp that I thought.

Thanks,
Chihiro

I know this is a long time after the original post but I just ran across it and there never was a really clear answer. I understand your question and your english is fine. The problem was people who didn't have a clue posting wrong answers.

Sliding the wiper switch to the right will activate the wipers. With the wipers running, pressing and releasing the wiper/washer button will start the washer pump. In the released position fluid flows to the headlight squirter switch (on the pump housing) and on to the windshield squirters. Pressing and holding the wiper/washer button in will cause the headlight squirter switch to divert the fluid to the headlights. This will continue as long as the button is held down. There is no connection, other than the hoses, between the two. Fluid will flow to the headlamps whether they are up or down.

NOTE: You can not squirt the headlights unless the wipers are operating. The wipers will continue to wipe the windshield while the pump operates. Also, this system is unique to the 1969 model year and the plastic pump itself is a high volume pump with a larger piston diameter than other years.
