Purchased an "80" coupe which needs TLC. My manual tells me to drill out the rivets holding on the rotors. What size is the rivet shaft and what is used to hold the rotor in place when its put back onto the car.
Also were the original calipers SS sleeved? Has any-one rebuilt the calipers using the Ecklers re-build kit?
This is my winter project and I'm sure to have other questions as I proceed. Any advise is greatly appreciated.
I'm sure by now the rivets have already been removed. I'm sure the calipers are SS sleeved also but you won't know until their removed. Eklers has good stuff. I've used them for years. Good luck and you will find lots of good information in the C3 section.

Drill them puppies out. I figure a 1/4" bit should work, but why not do it right and use a 1/2" bit. If a little is good, more is better, right? Then I'd use a #2 pencil to hold it in place when you put it back in.
The originals were not SS sleeved - they used the sleeves of a vest. Haven't used the Ecklers kit so I can't comment on that.
Okay, now you know that some of us (okay, ME) have a stupid sense of humor. I know nothing about this project, but thought you might like a little humor from your brief visit to the "C6" section. Come back and visit when you have more time
