...if you're talking for a '69 Corvette, there isn't much to decode.
...the VIN# will tell you that it's a Chevrolet, that it's a coupe or convertible, that it was assembled in St. Louis, that it is a "1969" and your car production sequence(#00001 to 38762, which are the last five digits of your VIN#).
...the original paint color, interior and body build date are on the trim tag on the driver's door hinge pillar.

...1972 & up had the original engine size/horsepower denoted as a letter also placed in the VIN# which wasn't the case from 1953 to 1971.
