Usually, the "differences of opinion" are just that...two [or more] folks who 'KNOW' they are each correct; then a debate starts with both claiming to be right. Nothing more than that. If you don't want to get people's opinions, don't ask questions on the Forum....but then, you won't get any answers, either. Best to just ask your question [there are no dumb questions...only dumb answers] and sit back to read the replies. There are those who take offense when someone has a difference of opinion and they try to "blast" the other party into submission. Those folks are very few in number and the rest of us don't like them either. Glad to have you aboard. P.S. Just ignore the "stuff" you didn't want to hear.

If you REALLY want to see hostility, head over to Bracket Talk on the DRR site and check out any thread involving Ed Bigley, aka 1320Racer. He's the most arrogant a$$ I've ever seen and brings out the worst in anybody. The site is down from time to time but can be one of the most entertaining places on the net if you're a motorhead.

To keep the $hit to a minimum, fill out your profile so folks can see a bit about you and use the search function before you ask questions. Folks get tired of answering the same question again and again. Take criticism with a grain of salt, most of the stuff I've seen is good natured ribbing, develop the thick skin referenced above and you'll be alright. This ain't your Mom's kitchen table, some of us are pretty crusty.

At any rate, welcome to the forums, pull up a chair, let me buy you a cold one and tell us about your Corvette

I don't know about others, but I'm not talking about differences in opinion. It's how a person expresses his opinion that makes a post destructive or constructive.

It wasn't always like that
Then perhaps you either need to report it or find a place that suits you better. We can't fix it if we don't know about it. Complaining about it in a thread does nothing.
