Default is this a C3 shifter?

I came across this shifter and mechanism while digging through my garage. I have no idea what it fits. I'm thinking it came with a '73 I had a while back. the handle appears to have been heated and bent a little. The shifter rods are mounted in rubber bushings.
on the shifter box it has the numbers 3138 and 160924E

Looks like the same shifter I had in my 78Z28 Camaro that I had.

That is an OEM hurst shifter - probably not a Vette shifter. The 3138 box was used on other applications that are different than the one you have in your hand so no help there. If you get the number off the stick you may be able to nail it down. The stick number will be application specific. Once you have that you can also check the 4 digit numbers on the linkage rods against the AIM that matches the stick application to see what tranny and engine combo it was used with from the factory. Not all factory rods have the numbers but many of them do.

The chrome part of my Hurst shifter does not have a bend in it. It might be for a C2 otherwise it is not for a Vette.

C3 shifters does not have the bend and the linkage rods are a lot longer.

I agree, not for a C3. Maybe a C2, but not sure even about that. It looks pretty tall, as said already, probably a Camaro or even an olds?

As I mentioned before, the late seventies factory Camaro shifters look exactly like that one pictured.
