Restoration Package from GM

I saw that post and understand your confusion. The 'free' package has nothing specific about your car.
If your car is a '77 or later there's some company that will sell you a copy of the dealer invoice for $50 or so. If it's earlier than '77 you're SOL.
If your car was imported into Canada by GM (any model, any year), they have all the records available for sale.
If your car was built in Bowling Green, the Museum has your records for sale.

I got mine yesterday as well. Only took a few days to get it. It had lots of interesting information in it. I learned that the paint option for my 75 is the second rarest, or should i say least ordered, paint color.

Got mine! Ordered it last Monday and came Friday.
I loved all the specs, but didn't expect copies from the chassis service manual, which is ok if you don't have one. Still, it was free and good to have.

Well.....I got my package today They sent it to my fathers adress I think its because of my previous gmc truck and my present gmc truck anyway.......... there is a lot more info for my 72 compared to my uncles 68 there is a complete section (sort of like a aim manual) but with step by step instructions on the whole car disassembly and assembly in sections, and with great diagrams VERY good info!!!!

I started the thread last week, which was a repost from an archived thread, all the only thing I meant to convey was ther were production numbers related tothe year of your car, and depending on the year, there may be more infor for some years than others.
Sorry for any confusion, I know some folkes jumped in and said you could get vin specific infor for later model vettes, but this was unrelated to my original post.
As to why GM asks for the VIN? your guess is as good as mine

I just called the 800# and spoke to a gal who was, in of all places, "Argentina"! But she said she was taking calls from Detroit and would get the kit out in a couple of days.
By the way she said its summer down there.

Got mine today, called them last Thursay, so not bad at all considering it was over Christmas. I'll be 3 hole punching it tomorrow and putting it in a binder with all the other Vette literature I have.
