Tachometer Red Lines for 69

I am looking for a 69 green face 5600 redline tach to replace one I have with a rusty face, and have posted in the parts section. Someone suggested I buy a repop face for it. I have looked at all the major suppliers...ecklers, ccentral, paragon, dr rebuild, and they all list a 5500 redline tach for the 69-71. Right there in their catalog was a picture of a 5500 tach.

Is this a repop mistake that everyone has bought into? I cannot find any Corvette engine combination from 69-71 that uses a 5500 tach.

What is up with that?

Redlines for '69s were 5300 for 350-300's; 5600 for 427-390/400, 6000 for 50-350s and 6500 for 427-435s.

5500 redlines were used on 327-300s.

I'll have to check, but I think my 350-300 says 5400.

my 427 was a 5600 I found a replacement face at the NCRS meet in Kissimie
