As many as you've seen all the wiper decals just crack and look terrible. I'm sure there are many solutions so here's mine based upon my interior redo.
I created the image from a scan to ensure placement of cutout and wiper image. Scanned the wiper image from a manual to get a clear image and merged the two to make a clean decal.
You can print on photo paper to achieve the various gloss or satin looks, cut it out and insert it over the existing one. A little spray adhesive and you're done. You can replace it anytime.
You could also send it off to a decal company to make a silkscreen version or overlay like whiteguages does. Which by the way are pretty cool and easy to install.
Thanks, I actually have a vinyl plotter but the tiny white image is harder to remove and place then simply printing the image on satin photo paper with glosser. The beauty is I've even printed a few different color backgrounds as an accent....dark gray, or charcoal...kinda fun actually.
With the new white guages I might even reverse the colors and try that as well. I'll post a photo if it looks good.
PS I got all the Kenwood stuff in - Head unit, 12" subwoofer, 6.5" coax, amp...Can't wait to hear that setup.
Thanks, to easy to do at home if you have a printer or even work. I tried several photo papers (used for durability) and the satin finished worked the best. Cut it out, trim the center with a knife and touch up any edges with a sharpie and you're done.
Someone could pass this to whiteguages...maybe I'll send it to them, or another vendor to vinyl print a sticker. If it makes a buck, hopefully someone will pay it forward. If they make a lot of bucks hopefully they will share a little
The reason the originals crack is because of the light bulb and clear plastic. Lots of heat right there and I am replacing all my bulbs with blue LEDs so hopefully this lasts awhile.
