Default Main Fuel Line Question Help.

Can the main fuel line on the passenger side be changed with the body on? And with the 3/8 line crushed half way, would there still be enough fuel going to the carb? It's right at the rear crossmember, just before it shoots up to the well. Those bolts are hard to get to with a wrench too.

If you want to go with all metal line, it would be close to impossible to do it. Many people run metal line along the bottom frame (along the passenger door) but run braided fuel line from the end of the lower frame to the back. I personally ran braided #8 fuel line all the way from the carb to the tank (in my case - fuel cell).

We just ran a 3/8 steel line front to the back with the body on for my 68. Also placed a Fram replaceable fuel filter can in the rear at the tank out of sight from the engine bay. The line when in a lot easier than expected in a very short period of time.

Did you run it the same way the original line went? I bought the fuel line from Eckler and can't see how I would go through the crossmember and then up over the well using the preform line. Tony

There is only one line, and it`s 3/8 ths. Roughly 5 feet long. We took it out because it was patched with 6 in. rubber many years ago behind the crossmember. But the tank was out and that needed repair too. It`s amazing what 34 years of storage can do to a Vette. But I did finally get to see what a tank sticker was that has so much gossip around it.
