Default Activating high beam 68 vette

I'm restoring a 68 vert. The high beam dimmer switch has a gray foot control riveted to the floor to activate the switch. Is this factory? Thanks

Do you mean something secondary to the foot activated switch? In that case, no.

If there is just a foot activated plunger switch down there, it belongs.

Foot switch through '76. Most cars used to be that way.
