Default Convo Pros

Has anyone used 15"x 8" Convo Pros on an 80 vet.
If so what was the offset necessary for the fit.

i dont know about the vet but i am getting some for my camaro. i think they are the hottest wheels getting around. i think it sux because the 7 inch convos have a 3.5 backspace and the 8 inch have the 3.5 backspace but then the 7.5 wheels have a 5 inch backspace so i cant get 7.5 on the camaro front. i just want to get as much of those ribs as possible in the wheel... im sure someone will chime in with the fattest ones you can shove in there.

I have thought about them, but I am thinking about leaving a 15" wheel.

I think it would be safe to say you"ll need 3-3/8, thats what everybody i know of runs with the exception of moneypit. he runs 4-1/2 i think but with extensive modifications to make them fit.

There are a couple of owners on here that had them or have them. I know the one guy that has the 546HP mini rat motor had a set on and they were awesome looking. Hopefully he'll chime in and post a pic as well.

Motorhead used to have them. I really liked the Convo's on his 80.

You should PM him about the offset question.

carguy4 sure,
Thanks for your assist on vet convos.
Out of interest I am an Aussie with a converted right hand drive vet.
You car is very similar to mine particularly colour.
I have a litte sag on the left hand side and have posted another thread.
You rear photos show a dead square profile.
Do you know if the rear clip supporting the rear bumper bar can twist and or can be adjusted to counter a twist of say around 10mm?

The problem with 15" tires is that are almost no performance tires left for them. That's the reason most guys switch to larger wheels.

Exactly and it's not like new Vettes are sporting 15" rims...or even close to it.

Here you go, Con Pro 8.5X15 with 4 1/2 BS on stock trailing arms without any issues.
