Default Under hood insulation or paint?

So I'm wondering do I add: http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...5&dept_id=1459 to my daily driver or over the winter have a body shop paint the underside of the hood flat black?

Thanks for opinions fellow Vette owners!!!

Forget the hood insulation - it gets dirty after awhile. Just painted my
hood flat black. Looks great - cost about $5.00. Take off top hardware
-clean good - then mask engine, front of car/hood, etc. -use an old
sheet or towels to cover the engine, tape newspaper on front of hood
to avoid sprayover. Takes about 20 minutes to mask off - then about
60 seconds to paint. (Yes, this is with hood attached to car.)

This is good info. I was wondering about my hood insulation. I need to get rid of it for the extra 1/2" clearance. New Dome and carb.

Just make sure the hood underside is really clean and paint when temp
is 55 degrees or more. Also, a good time to paint headlight actuators -
their are chrome (which is plastic) or gold covers but since mine were
silver (I know they should be "gold") I repainted with silver. And since
you've done all this masking paint them too - I used tin foil to put around wires and for other places I didn't want overspray.
