What kind of advice would you like? It is a beautiful original car.Congratulations. I have three 68's my self. they are my favorite.

I seem to always buy 68's to restore at our shop.
One of my cars is like yours. 427 roadster 390hp.

i am not used to the age of the car so i am trying to get the paint to look a little more prestine!!

would i loose value if the car was repainted and what does a paint job ( good one) cost and how long would it take to do it??

the rest of the car is good i just did not realize that power steering was not included since i baught it without seing it first..

thanks

Hey joe, you are talking to the right guy as I own a restoration shop.
Check out our website to see what we do.

http://www.2ndgenrestorations.com

Now as far as painting your car, If it has the original paint, then it will devalue it a bit (at least to some people). On the other hand ,if the original paint is horrific then a paint job will increase its value.
The problem with buying a car so original is that it is only original once, and hence more valuable than cars that have been restored (not better looking ,just more valuable). Low mileage survivor cars that look as good as that car seems to are rare.

Now the bottom line is that it is your car and you should do what you want with it,since you paid for it. That is what I advise all my customers. I would add power steering if you like it.

A paint job like the ones we do starts around 10k for a clean car like yours.

Holy Crap!!!!!

Awesome isnt enough of a word for that car. I see you like the finer things in life ,like fast cars and nice paintjobs!!!!
I am building a 600hp road race street car and I thought that was something!! But after seeing your car go,Well I will use my 600hp and then pretend for the rest

Stan

That car certainly isnt what you are used to but you will learn to appreciate it for what it is.A beautiful old car. It is nice to see someone with a wide taste variety.

Hi joe1968,
First off I am a collector and attend auctions thru out the year. The Original untouched cars are becomming very rare, and are the in thing to collect for many collectors. If your paint is original and untouched think long and hard before you paint. Once it is painted that Original untouched is gone, you can not go back. Just some food for thought.
It's the lowest production year for the C3 chrome bumper cars.
