Default Another C3 Lives Again !!!!!

Well i finally cranked my girl over , and she lives to see many days of cruising ! Me and my buddy finally fired her up last night after a little treaking here and there ! We primed the oil pump for about 2min put sum gas to her and after about four attempts to fire she screamed with joy . All went well didnt get hot , oil pres good , no leakes yet ! has a nice lope to it in all it went great . Thanks to all of yall here on the forum for yalls help and insight

I was told to put vasoline in my oil pump to prime it. It took no time at all and it dissipated once the oil hit it. Plus, now I know what it looks like on the inside -- kinda cool.

You have to do Vasoline or white grease on an external type oil pump (Buick and AMC for example). On an internal type oil pump you can just dunk the pump in a bucket of oil and turn it to prime it. Then install it and turn the shaft with a drill to prime the system once the rest of the engine is assembled.

Never heard of the vasoline , i used an old chevy dist. that was modified ! You can see the pres. guage move when you do this worked like a charm ! I know that you dont get oil everywhere you need to . but you get it in alot of places you do need it .
