Found This 72 Today...Beginner's Luck?
The previous owner did a frame-off restoration (w/ all receipts provided) including a $10,000 paint job that is probably the nicest paint I have ever seen. There isn't a scratch or mark on the paint, bumpers, top...even the wheel wells are clean. You could eat off the underside.
The current owner has upgraded the radiator, ignition, brakes, exhaust, radio, etc., etc., but he has all the original (fully functional) parts carefully stored in boxes in his garage. After one pants-wetting test ride I didn't question with his performance claims. Damn, it feels and sounds wicked!
He's got two daughters to put thru college and he's also selling his custom bike that he had redone by Orange County Choppers, including having the tank painted to match his Vette! Amazing machine too.
His phone was ringing off the hook when I was talking with him and while I was there. He already had two offers and he blew off a stealer. I wrote a check for a deposit for a mutually agreeable price so I could check out the stamps etc, which I have now done. The price is below the value I get from every price guide, including the one from Corvette Magazine, Mannheim auctions and CollectorCarsMarket. The owner is a no-BS kinda guy and is aware of what its worth. He just wants a quick and simple deal, which I can do.
I know everyone says don't buy the first one you see. I took a few pix and posted them below. What do you experts think?

Re-Post:
No question, befor you put your hard earned money down, pull the kicks, just one screw in back, up near the firwe wall, and the sill covers, first 3 screws ought to do it, and check the lower cage to body mount, second there are little covers in the front rear wheel wells, 6 1/4in bolts, pull theses and check the rear cage mounts, the other two, called #1 and #4 you can see from underneath the car, there open to the air. Don't let a little surface rust scare you off on htese, the main thing is that thier not pitted or seriously rusted, no holes! I've included pics off mine,, these are "ok", but no worse would be acceptble. If that checks out, and you like the car and price, It Needs to go on a lift to check the frame for ters and/or rust, same thing applies, a little surface is ok , but no pitting, pay attention to around the front suspension areas and to the take off areas for the rear kick-ups, the front for ters and the rear for rust. the windshield surround can be fixed for about $2k, so it's not that bad if it's rusty, but the cage is a death knel for everything but a high value (+35k) Vette, loking upwards of $10k for that, and I do mean upwards. put a camera in the front kick panel holes and take a picture up into the cage rails, you can see the condition rails. cage and a frame inspection is a must for any C3 buy, and if he won't let you do it, I'd walk away from it.

Good luck!
Also, the Bryar Blue color is a fairly low production color in 72 and in my opinion, one of the nicest Vette colors.
With a nice body/paint/interior, Big Block, clean frame and good mechanicals, you need to buy it....numbers matching would be a bonus. If not let me know, I want it!
Hope you get it

The price is below the value I get from every price guide, including the one from Corvette Magazine,
Is that blue overspray all over the spare tire tub?
As posted, don't make a move without checking the kickups on the frame. If you are happy with that, the numbers, the rest of the car and the price, have fun!

If anyone in the NYC metro area would be willing to inspect it with me, I'll pay the going rate.

Man, cut the dude some slack! Big block both top vert with AC! Not a bad buy they are not all bloomington golds but that car looks solid. He saw it in person.
Paint $4k
Engine $4k
Interior $1k
AC $1k
Other $2k
Now I have close to $26k and it still doesn't come close to looking as nice as that car. Mine's a rubber bumper vette with a small block. Would easily lay out another 6 g's for yours.

with all of the above comments. It's a beautiful Vette and especially if it's your first!

and you'd drop that much without having it inspected?
