Default Engine Lift Plate ????

Has anyone used an engine lift plate to pull their engine. The plate that is held on by the carb studs. Seems like alot of weight to depend on the threads in an aluminum manifold.

I use an adjustable tilt engine puller assembly with one chain attached to the front left head and one to the rear right head.

I agree the weight of an engine lifted on those four carb bolts seems to be way to much. Plus you can't tilt the engine. Which is a must if you want to pull the tranny with the motor. (my preferred method)

I lifted a big block and transmission using a home made plate bolted to the intake.

I used one a few times and cringed everytime I pulled it over the fenders. I since bought the same style 76 stingracer is talking about.

I have used one many, many times and it works great. They have 3 different holes to put your hook into, so if you did pull the motor and tranny together, just stick it in the back hole.

Used one more times than I can count. I don't use the carb studs though. I use grade 8 bolts.
