We left El Cajon,Ca in my friends new Yukon 4:30 am Friday, and just east of Yuma,Az,we got pulled over for speeding. (80 mph in a 65 zone)The AZ State leo was really cool and let us off with a written warning... At Barrett,I just looked at the 68/69 Corvettes,mainly..
The following are pic's of Lot 1530.1 which sells Sunday...This is the so called "L88 Recreation"...I tried talking with owner, but it was a waste of time.he was not very friendly. We think he recently purchased this vette and is not a vette guy...just some Malibu dude flipping the vette..
The engine compt. was filthy, gas was leaking from carb, but body/paint looked really good...

I saw the end of that one when they were rolling it off the stage. Looks like the guy that bought the 4wd vette was laughing and shaking his sons hand. Must have been for the son.
Great pics Rich. Sounds like you guys had a good time.

Fun time...but much different than last year...there seems to be more "bargins" this year as some very nice cars went low....they also had a "buy now" tent....some neat cars in there...

Yes I said $30,000 !!
That was some of the Jesse James garbage. It and the "Flying Car" were the last I believe. Couldn't come soon enough. Hey! there is a caliber of people that is turned on by his junk so hopefully both vehicles (bought by the same guy I believe) will be put in some Bubba museum not to be seen again!

The Jessie James cars were worse seeing in person...we could not believe our eyes yasterday looking at them....
I think Barrett has gone downhill and evidence is their strategy of fishing around with the market...last year they auctioned off some guitars and this year they go to Sanford & Sons....
Friday I paid $40 (senior rate) general admission...it was $30 to valet the Yukon....

We seen that thing Friday...nuff said....fools and thier money..!!
and the fools are hurting the collector car market for the average guy by paying ridiculous amounts for some of theese cars. everyone who has a old beat up car watches BJ and thinks theirs is worth a fortune.
Hey Rich - I really enjoyed meeting up with you and your buddies on Friday. It's always great to meet forum members in person. Sorry I never made it back to the stands. My son and his buddy wanted to leave about 7 or 7:30 and we caught the ending bids on TV at home.
Thanks for sharing the pics, glad he let you off with warning.
The AZ CHP was grinning when he asked for drivers info... I had told my bud to slow down earlier as they still use K band there and are sneaky about it...(They turn their radar on/off...)
Last year I went thru there in my wifes Corolla.(no detector).but I know where they hide... Pic below same stretch he was caught...
