Default Hookers are on!

Finished up this afternoon... man, I like these things! Thanks go out to Scooter Boy, who sold them to me. Great transaction, the tubes cleaned up and look beautiful! I went with the Hooker Max-Flows, and like everybody says, they ARE loud, but I like it.

Here's a couple of pics. I wasn't too sure how all the chrome would look with the yellow paint, but I think it's ok.

I think they look good with the yellow. Of course, I might be biased.

Those look awesome!!!

I have been drooling for a set of Hookers for awhile. I was on e-bay before Thanksgiving and saw a set that look like that. I put them on my watch list out of curiosity to see how much they went for. There were several sets, some went for as much as $900. Well my wife, not knowing what to get me for Christmas was looking at my watch list and bought them for $499. With no place big enough to hide them, she gave them to me early. I think they are chinese knock-offs, the ceramic coating was terrible. I polished them for 6 or 7 hours. the side tubes are flawless. The collectors are stainless and I was able to polish them to a morror. The primaries are steel and coated so I polished the part that will be visible outside the car. I have to use them to keep from hurting the wifes feelings so I'll see what they look like when I put them on the car. BTW mine is getting color this week over at the paint jail. Millineum Yellow, I think yellow and chrome are meant for each other.

Yep, I guess it's just a matter of time until I get that "Corvette tattoo"! Although I have to say, when I took it out this afternoon, the side tubes never got that hot... of course it was only 30 degrees outside, which may have had something to do with it. But I thought I remembered seeing someone else post that they don't get that hot with the Max-Flows... don't know why that would be, but we'll find out soon enough!

I bought the same headers and sidepipes ...... go to www.JetHot.com look over there coatings, they have one - like a semi - dull stainless finish - polishes up very nice. $195.00 to do the set. These are going on my 72 this summer.

They do look sweeeeeeeeeeeet! I really like them a lot. I will tell you that they do get hot, VERY HOT! Just like the pipes on a bike they will burn the living daylights out of you. I am putting a cage in my car and have enough trouble getting in an out as it is. I knew I'd be in trouble trying to get out of the seat over the side bar and still get my leg far enough out as to not touch the pipes. Glad they went to someone who will show them off and really enjoy them. Thanks for doing the deal it was really nice dealing with you!

Those do look nice! I can't wait to get mine. I'm hoping to use part of my income tax return to get a set...

It's an income tax refund. The return is the thing you sign and mail in.

Did yours come with the mufflers in the side tubes. Have you installed them yet and if so how do they sound?
