I used national auto transport in Florida and they were thieves.
I would make sure they arent brokers. They will even tell you they arent when they are. The broker will quote you a price and when the car shows up the shipper will ask for the money plus the 200.00 broker fee and wont give you the car til you pay.. Be sure who you use..
I used DAS (dependable auto shippers) and was pleased with them. You can track the car wherever it is. They will pick it up and drop it off from house to house or you can drop it off at one of their locations and pick it up from another. I paid around $900 to have it shipped from Indiana to North Carolina.
I used Intercity Transport but this was back in 2003 for a move from Grapevine Texass to upstate N.Y. cost me $900.00 some odd bux but worth it, definately more now due to higher fuel but it was worth the money back then for the piece of mind. That car ('82 Corvette) had no motor, no trans, didnt steer and didnt have brakes either. Good Luck,,,Peace, Moosie
I used DAS to ship my Vette from IL to CA. Great price, online tracking & it was delivered 1 day earlier than promised. That was the 3rd time i had used DAS in the last 2 years & I would recommend them without hesitation.
WATCH out for those Brokers!!
fedex to ship a car???? do they make a cardboard box that big?(kidding) Never heard of that.
They gave me a quote and said they would stand by it if I bought the car which I was looking at the following week. Their price was better than a couple of the big boys, and I preferred the way they talked to me. I flew out to CT, bought the car, called them the next day, and the car was picked up within 3 days (this is not guaranteed).
The seller emailed me to tell me how professional they were and that they had a nice rig with other collector cars, fully enclosed. They showed up at my house in about a week, the driver was a total pro and I was thrilled with the experience. I called their office and told them so. Id use them again tomorrow.
You might call one of the van lines outfits that do home moves. When we had our last move, I had an off-the-cuff discussion with the driver and he said that they actually can move cars in the van...along with furniture, etc. It might be worth a call to see what they charge. You might have to accept their scheduling when a "short load" is headed your way.
